I'm so excited today y'all. I've been waiting to show you these!!!!!!!!!!!
Now you know I'm always up for something new, so of course when singer/actor/talent extraordinary Atlee Feingold called me and asked if I could witness her coming undone in the golden light of her 1920"s Capitol Hill light filled space I JUMPED at the chance and the pictures are so surprising and magical and emotive. I love them and I know you will too. (a quick note to say NSFW)
I KNOW RIGHT?!?!?!
She invites the eye. It's so powerful.
When I met with Karen who was featured last week on the blog she asked me why I wanted to do this project. Why was I driving around Seattle seeking out lady-Artists?
I love a why because I spend all my life alternately confused and curious. I first thought I don't know and then I thought, oh I do know - I want to learn and learn and learn. I want to be surrounded by lady artist voices. By those before me and those along side me and those coming up after me. We aren't in museums, us lady artists, and we aren't making work out of collective loft spaces that hold regular critique sessions and lectures in the community. we work in isolation and we dream alone in our spaces and we edit on our own and we sell and market and write in isolation and that's ok because I am an introvert and maybe you are too - but I want to learn with my ears and my lens and so I'm asking the ladies artists of this Pacific Northwest to play and learn with me.
Lets make something together! - So if you are a lady artist I'm inviting you to click the contact box in the upper right corner and say you are a lady artist and I am too and maybe we can create something more than the sum of its parts!
